The Dive Deep project centred on a series of educational workshops for Kings’s College London curating students, which I devised to support the students in developing an exhibition of their peer’s artwork. The workshops explored visitor journey and experience, and included a writing workshop which resulted in an experimental piece of writing, co-authored by the students, for the gallery handout.
The resulting exhibition, Dive Deep: Our Immersive Selves, at Science Gallery London, presented immersive Virtual Reality (VR) artwork students in Digital Humanities department. The students respond to the theme of selfhood, exploring how immersive technologies change how we think about our bodies and their relationship to the world around us.
Visitors were invited to explore two ‘playable’ environments and a host of walk-through videos created in Unity, a 3D game engine often used to prototype world-building scenarios and communicate speculative ideas.
